This afternoon we discussed how the celebration at the ASD Education Center went yesterday. We then watched a short clip of Ishmael Beah, the author of the book we began reading yesterday. In the clip Mr. Beah answered the question "Why did you want to tell your story?" This let us hear Beah's perspective on possible reactions to his book, and let us become familiar with his accent.
We then read along as we listened to Beah read the book, A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier, aloud.
