Career Resources
Operated by Vonnie Gaither, the Career Resource Room (CRR) is designed to assist our students in selecting among post-secondary educational opportunities. These opportunities include college (both two and four year) and professional or vocational schools. Ms. Gaither is also dedicated to helping students and their families secure funding for further education. Occasionally, jobs and internships offered through the community become available through the CRR. Student Scholarship Folders (portfolios), constructed by students and families, are available for review by local scholarship committees.
The Career Resource Bulletin is published often and carries a plethora of scholarship opportunities. Contact Ms. Gaither (gaither_vonnie@asdk12.org) for more information. As mentioned, various organizations wishing to award East students with financial aide generally make their decisions based on a single collection of pertinent documents: the scholarship portfolio. The portfolio includes transcripts, letters of recommendation, among other documentation on student achievement. Ms. Gaither has collected the following documents to help East families begin the process.
Important note: If your child is planning on attending college / university he or she must have completed Agebra I, Geometry and Algebra II.
